We reimagined the classic Ben Davis Short Sleeve Striped 1/2 Zip Shirt with artwork inspired by the storied Barong Tagalog. Our custom Barong design is screen printed across the front of the garment, bringing the visual language of Filipino formalwear into the toughness and utility of American workwear. Because the artwork is screen printed directly across the shirt—including over pockets, seams, and construction points—minor breaks, inconsistencies, and variations in the print are expected. These imperfections are a natural result of the screen-printing process and make each garment slightly unique. On the back, three hidden bolo swords reference the often-told story that Filipinos were required to wear the Barong in sheer fabric so weapons could not be concealed beneath it. Whether history, legend, or a mixture of both, the story has endured as a symbol of identity, resistance, and ingenuity. The Heritage brings those ideas together in a piece that merges Filipino tradition, American workwear, and cultural storytelling.
